    I want to create a Mobile Website (Blackberry) using Asp.Net So i am bit of confused which one to use Asp.Net Mobile Forms or Asp.Net MVC ? I have Knowledge about Asp.Net but don’t have any idea about MVC ?

    2nd Question : I have heard about Asp.Net MVC 3 but its available for Visual Studio 2010 but blackberry simulator is available for Visual Studio 2008 so how can i debug MVC3 web apps on the simulator ?

    Choosing between ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC is up to you! ASP.NET MVC gives more command on HTML rendered in the browser! It finds very easy for the HTML developers! In contrast ASP.NET WebForms also do well!

    Both these technologies support Mobile rendering! The great advantage of ASP.NET is it renders output based on the requested device!

    Regrading the BlackBerry Simulator for VS 2010, RIM has depreciated the “BlackBerry Plugin for VS 2008”! Now they are providing tools in the form of WebWorks, which you can download from the link – https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/html5/

  4. Hi Roopesh About getting IMEI number check this one out..it have some errors in my application but if you could get through them may be I am not sure if one can bet the IMEI number for asp.NET web application.

    It is impossible to get the IMEI number using Web application from Mobiles! You may get it in thick applications(which is installed in the device).

  6. Rupesh, we developped lawandmoney.info using DRUPAL. However vevelopper being a neophyte could not exploit to the fullest and registration poage is nopt as fluid. So Project Mger suggested ASP.net or JAva. Now some of the modules such as registration, finding contacts will be deployed on Android Iphone. So what do you suggest- from India coder standpoint – what is workable?

    1. Hi,
      Mobile Form templates are designed for WAP enabled devices! Now those stuff are depreciated. Now a days all mobile supports HTML5 and general ASP.NET wesite works absolutely fine.

      You need to add an Viewport META tag to make your website mobile compatible!

    My client has a mobile web application. He has asked me to put a progress bar in one of the mobile form. This progress bar should pop up as soon as user clicks on command button. Actually am new to this mobile forms and its not similar to asp.net web forms. Luckily i have found your blog and came to know that you work on mobile web forms. Any help could be appreciated.

In fact you do can better! There are many Mobile Frameworks available like jQuery Mobile, PhoneGap, KendoUI etc., Mobile web app development will be great with ASP.NET MVC!

    Yeah! It’s possible. You can do that with ASP.NET WebForms too! But ASP.NET MVC has more cleaner HTML, it’s more recommended than WebForms!

      Error seems to be pretty clear. The database table may not have the sixth column which you have specified. So, cross check it.
